Ragging has ruined countless number of persons’ lives and careers. In order to eradicate it, the Hon’ble Supreme Court in its judgment, Civil Appeal No. 887 of 2009, issued guidelines for the setting up of a Central Crisis Hotline and Anti- Ragging Database. The University Grants Commission followed it up with guidelines for setting up Anti-Ragging Cell in every educational institution in the country. Accordingly an Anti- Ragging cell has been set up since then in NYAYSHASTRA LAW COLLEGE , Nainpur =, Mandla

Objective:-
To root out ragging in all its forms in the University by prohibiting it and preventing its occurrence in accordance with the provisions of the regulations and the appropriate laws in force.

Powers & Functions of Anti- Ragging Committee:
Anti- Ragging Committee will be the Supervisory and Advisory Committee for chalking out a plan of action for creating, promoting and preserving a culture of ragging- free environment in the University campus. The Anti- Ragging Squad will work under the supervision of Anti- Ragging Committee and engage in checking places like hostels, bus stops, canteens, classrooms and other places of student congregation for any incidence of ragging, and shall educate the students at large in the University about the menace of ragging and its related punishment provisions. Anti- Ragging Committee will be involved in designing strategies and evolving plan of action for curbing the menace of ragging in the University by:

1. Complying with the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court and remaining vigilant of any ragging activity in the campus.

2. Publicizing to all students about the directives of the Supreme Court and punishments that can be given against those indulging in ragging.

3. Forming Anti- Ragging Committees and Squads to make surprise visits and take effective steps to prevent ragging.

4. Monitoring the functioning of the Anti- Ragging Squad.

5. Taking all necessary measures for prevention of ragging inside the campus/ the hostels.

6. Offering counseling and orienting the students to the new approach.
